All inclusive Cabo resort with littles
We travelled to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to an all inclusive resort with a toddler and an infant. We thought we were slightly crazy to do this (aren't we always a little crazy?). But we had a very positive experience when we took our 13 month old on a cruise with us so we were hoping that an all inclusive resort would be a similar experience.
Here are somethings we learned along the way.
Change your expectations.
This is not going to be the relaxing vacation you took with your partner on your honeymoon. I got one hour the whole week to have a drink and read a few pages of book I probably won't finish for 5 more years. But you will get to see your toddler have the best time playing in the water and the sand.
Get a family suite
With two littles having the extra space was worth it's weight in gold. We had our toddler in a pack and play in the living room area and then we ended up putting our infant in the master bathroom. Unfortunately this meant that we really couldn't use the master bathroom but it was so nice to have our own space where we could hang out at night and not disturb him.
Bring extra clothes
The biggest downside to a resort compared to a vacation rental is lack of laundry services-or extremely expensive laundry. Kids just naturally go through a lot of laundry- especially with blow outs and spit up. I brought an outfit for everyday plus a few extra ones just to make sure we would have enough to survive all the potential blow outs
Pro tip: bring travel stain remover to pre-treat prior to packing.
Bring extra snacks
This was our biggest downfall- we expected that because it was an all inclusive resort that there would be plenty of food around all the time. This is what we are used to on cruises. Well long story short there wasn't. We brought a lot of snacks for the plane rides but we didn't anticipate needing more snacks for when we were at the resort. We ended up stopping at a Walmart in town halfway through the trip to get some snacks.

Bring Sand Toys
This was a HUGE hit. You can find collapsable buckets on Amazon for easy travel. We played with these every day in the sand and the water. I also went to the dollar store and got an inexpensive dump truck for my toddler to play with and it was a huge hit. Multiple kids at the resort also wanted to play with it.
Travel with family, if possible
We brought the grandparents with us and it made our trip so much easier. It was nice to have extra pairs of hands. It also allowed my husband and I to have little bits of alone time during naps. Involved grandparents are the best!

Bring a travel stroller
I will be the first to say that I'm not a big stroller person. I don't even own a double stroller (gasp!) Honestly my kids aren't that big of fan of being in them. But we got this umbrella stroller for free from a buy nothing for one of our previous trips and we brought it for this trip and it was great. We used it in the airport to help haul our toddler around and for around the resort to help haul both kids around. Our toddler loved pushing the baby around in it. Also it was a great place to put the baby while we were eating.
Be prepared to adjust to changes in routine
You are in a new space with new sights and sounds. We just tried to roll with the punches. We had a bit of a tough time with some nap refusals. Our infant took some outdoor naps in a lounge chair (supervised of course).
